About Us

“The Jason and Debbie story” started with an email. Seriously. A short, 10-line email with a few who, what, why details. The email was received and replied to, and the rest is history . . . blissful, blessed history! After those first two emails we spent six months sending emails back and forth from Tennessee to Texas and Texas to Tennessee. Jason flew up to Kentucky to meet me . . . and my parents. We started a courtship, and that is only the beginning of the story. Interested in the details? Well, our story is in the works of becoming a book! We will share the unique and wonderful love story God wrote for us. We know its hand-crafted by God, because we could never ever dream up anything close to this amazing story.

Today we are almost ten years into our story. We have a home, two cars, four cats, and Isaac our 5-year old boy, who we are crazy about. All the praise and glory goes to God our Heavenly Father who so bountifully provides for our needs  according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)! Through the years, God has granted us safety and joy in the journey. And we are thankful. We recorded some of our precious, past milestones in our first blog, J and D Snapshots. Check it out!

Besides being two people madly in love with each other, and PROUD parents, we are first and foremost children of God, the Creator of heaven and earth! We are proud to be members of the Seventh-day Adventist church, a protestant Christian denomination founded in 1844. We also have wonderful parents, siblings and extended families who we love dearly on this earth, and who all live in another state. We miss them . . . and the free babysitting . . . sniff sniff!

Jason is a senior accountant and I work from home as a writer, editor, artisan, and most importantly wife and mommy! Jason loves watching and playing sports, gardening, hiking, camping, and spending time with us! I spend free time (what's that?) reading historical fiction, biographies, memoirs, and home and garden magazines. I also love vegetarian cooking, photography, and Masterpiece Theatre. I blogged about food, faith, travel, and "Mommy stuff" for a couple of years at www.mommyathome.net. I discontinued that blog, because I went through a crazy busy time finishing my master's degree and graduating!  Whoo hoo! Isaac is a LEGO enthusiast and also loves swimming, playgrounds, and playing with his friends.

By God's grace our family saga continues. Welcome to our blog, The Jason and Debbie Story.
