Yosemite: We flew out to the San Francisco area in 2009, and then took our rental car around to see some amazing and beautiful places in central California. One of those gorgeous spots we visited was Yosemite! I did not even know what I had been missing. I had heard of this park all my life since it is one of the most popular vacation spots in the country, but man oh man --I was shocked by its awesome beauty. Read more 




San Francisco, part 1: Views of the Golden Gate Bridge, dolphins in the bay, and historic Alcatraz, trolley rides over hilly streets, and a visit to the botanical gardens were memorable site seeing opportunities we enjoyed during our visit to San Francisco in 2009.  Read more


San Francisco, part 2: I remember our visit to Ferry Plaza Farmers Market on Market Street on the Embarcadero. We bought our lunch from the outdoor vendors. That sandwich may look like we were eating swamp grass, but it was sooo good! It was not food from Shrek's kitchen either . . .it was scrumptious chickpea curry medley wrapped in thick flat bread. We also tried the tofu salad, which was awesome, and some fresh juice specialty. Wow, we were eatin' good in the neighborhood! Read more




Pacific Coast Highway 1: We took a gorgeous drive down the US west coast in 2009. Our scenic drive took a pause at a farmer's market where whiskey barrels and dinner plate sized dahlias offered interesting and beautiful ideas for gardening. As we drove along the Pacific Ocean, it was our first time to see Elephant seals in the wild. Read more
