Thanksgiving 2015

The fall colors were gorgeous in Louisiana during our Thanksgiving holiday there! I actually did not realize how much I missed seeing the amazing fall colors until I got to see such brilliant and stunning changes of color this year! It was so wonderful!  I hope I'll get to see them again next year! --so beautiful!

Time to serve up some delicious food! We had turkey, vegetarian holiday loaf, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, green beans, fresh-from-grandma's-garden kale, corn casserole, squash dressing, gravies, hot rolls with butter, and IT WAS SO GOOD!!

Kids' table with their grandma -GiGi!

Our little man digging in to some yummy food!

Family enjoying a beautiful dinner together!

While visiting family, we not only ate great food, but we got to enjoy talking together while the kids played. We also had an early Christmas with Granny and GiGi and Pappy. Isaac enjoyed giving Granny her gift at her house.

This is Jason's Grandma! She is such a beautiful lady! --both outside and inside! I have met few people who are as kind, gracious, and loving as she is! She is truly a woman worthy of respect and admiration. She is a strong woman who lives her life with integrity and thoughtfulness! She has so many wonderful talents and has lived and is continuing to live a full and abundantly blessed life. She has great stories too! We always enjoy visiting with her and always get the bonus of eating her cakes, pies, and cobblers! Yummy!

Games and family time are so important to all of us in this family! Here's Isaac playing Uno with GiGi, Pappy, and his Daddy! Holiday visits often include game nights or just random game playing! Games are great for a laugh and are the makings of some fun memories!

Isaac was so happy that he got to have an early Christmas with GiGi and Pappy!  :-) He ripped into the presents so fast when it was . . . finally . . . time to open them!  Silly boy!

We also gave a special gift to GiGi and Pappy while we were home for Thanksgiving!
I am so thankful for our family!! We really enjoyed our time together! Thanksgiving is a wonderful holiday to celebrate everything God has so generously and mercifully given us! Even the most simple things in life are HUGE blessings! Air . . . water . . . food . . . and even clothes and a home --so many people do not have some of these things.

It is easy to forget about them while we are comfortable, but 1000s ...no millions are in much more difficult day-to-day circumstances than we have ever been in. While all the fun and food and shopping takes place, let's set a little (or a lot) aside to help someone in need. There are countless humanitarian and non-profit organizations out there, so think about one that is calling out to your heart and donate today! It is a blessing to bless someone else. I plan to donate to the following organizations and maybe a couple of others this year. Check them out and see if you want to give too!

Some day the King of kings will say,
"‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for Me.’" ~ Matthew 25:40.
